HISTORY & BACKGROUND

SINCE 1974 AMECO has been dedicated to the concept that solar energy is the solution to our energy future. Solar energy is unlimited, non-polluting and free. Its use employs people and recycles energy dollars… dollars that now flow out of our country, adding daily to our national trade deficit. We are committed to providing cost-effective and reliable solar systems and strive to offer the best components available. We believe that using solar energy is simply the BEST INVESTMENT available to homeowners or businesses today, since the alternative to solar is just a never-ending monthly expense.

C. H. Pope in his book, Solar Heat, stated in 1903:

     "SUN POWER is a pure gain to humanity. It subtracts nothing; the world will not be in the least impoverished tomorrow by the fullest use of "visible solar heat" today. We must consider that wood, oil, coal and gas are steadily consumed by use. Not only will coming generations be less comfortably supplied - a thing most of us care little about - but the drain today may produce distress in our own homes and lay an embargo on our own business tomorrow. Contrast this with the freedom of the people who receive daily gifts of fuel from the Creator, taking all they wish, all they can use, freely."
These words seem even more compelling to us in the 21st Century.

HISTORY & BACKGROUND

AMECO is one of the oldest established solar companies in California. Since 1974 our company has been installing solar systems for its residential, commercial and municipal clients. As a pioneer in the solar field, we have witnessed the industry evolve from "ground zero." In this period we have experimented with different system designs as well as a myriad of different solar collectors, controls, pumps, and storage media. As a result we have "hands-on" experience with applications that are truly cost effective and long lasting.
     Originally organized as Link & Sun Solar Co., AMECO specializes in solar system services including design, installation and repair. As a licensed energy auditor (# 4181), AMECO can provide a feasibility study that encompasses solar and details the complete energy picture for an entire facility. As a licensed solar contractor (# 483280), AMECO does not represent just one manufacturer of solar equipment and reserves its recommendations until after the site is examined. As an energy consultant, AMECO can design a solar system to fulfill the needs of anybody from the do-it-yourselfer to the architectural, engineering and construction sectors. The League approves only those contractors that meet the following criteria:

>Valid contractor's license and bond, no outstanding complaints.
>Current Worker's Compensation and General Liability Insurance.
>Pass a background check for liens, civil litigation, bankruptcy and tax defaults.
>Good business credit verified by the Building Industry Credit Association and TRW (now Experian).
>Provide at least six satisfactory customer references.
>Provide at least three business references, including material suppliers.
>Abide by the League's Code of Ethics

 
AMECO is a member of the Southern California Better Business Bureau.
